March 5th:
Today, we started with morning work and Heggerty. We are getting really good at our letters and sounds! Keep practicing to stretch words out and put them back together! We listened to the book Double Bass Blues. After that, for writing time, we read the book When Sophie Gets Angry-really, really angry. We talked about how we feel and what we do when we get angry and then we wrote about it. In math, we did calendar and did a roll, add, and color page. We ended our day with some Fun Friday Free Time! We had a really great week!
Enjoy your weekend!
March 4th:
Our day began like usual with morning work and Heggerty. We listened to the book Bo The Brave for our March Madness book bracket. Then, we learned and worked on the sight word jump. After a movement break we did a writing. We wrote about what we would do if we found a pot of gold. Ask us what we said! During our reading group time, we did a fun sight word game while Mrs. Howell met with a group. In math, we worked on the number line, missing numbers, and mixed up numbers. We also learned how to play a mixed up number game. Overall, we had a wonderful day! Keep up the hard work!
March 3rd:
Today, we began with morning work and Heggerty. For our March Madness book bracket we listened to the book All The Way To The Top. After we hear another story tomorrow, we will vote on which one we liked best. Then, we learned the sight word help. After a movement break, we read the book Fox In Socks and did a project to go along with it. During reading group time, we worked on a word family color page. In math, we did calendar and worked on missing numbers in a number line. We did a really great job following directions today! Keep rocking it!
March 2nd:
I hope everyone enjoyed the nice 3 day weekend and spent some time outside!
In class today, we started with morning work and Heggerty. We have been working on "l" blends. We have 3 new sight words this week (look, help, jump). Today, we worked on the word look. Today is Dr. Seusses birthday so, we read the book Oh The Places You'll Go and did a writing to go along with it. During our reading group time, we wrote about our favorite season. In math, we started our new pilot math program Bridges. We worked on a number line 0-10 and then had some fun with pattern blocks. Overall, we had a really great first day back! Keep doing your best to stay focused!
